Overall, L'Aventure is recognized for its exceptional cuisine, welcoming service, and charming European vibe, making it a favored choice for special occasions and regular visits alike.
I took my partner for his birthday and the main meal was exquisite. The only thing I would say is that the portions could’ve been a little more generous all round because we both left hungry. The owner was warm and welcoming and the staff were also very friendly. To start I had the scallops & muscles and he the foie gras - he thoroughly enjoyed the pate, for me the scallops and muscles could’ve been abit more exciting to the pallet. The main - he had the lamb and me the sea bass *chefs kiss to both* Desert was also wonderful! We shared the crème brûlée which came as two mini pots; one pistachio and one normal and paired that with the apple tart. both went down a treat The ambience was lovely, romantic and very pleasant. we both would definitely eat here again
Outstanding French fare, great service and a really nice European vibe - the onion tart and the monkfish special were delicious, and the veal and the quail were very good too. Desserts were good, though not as good as the savoury dishes. Really nice staff and loved their playlist as well as their selection of wines! Will be back.
I have become regular customer, since this restaurant was recommend to me. I feel the surroundings give you the feeling that you are in Paris. I feel that £60 per head for three courses is excellent in today’s restaurants high prices. I had my favorite starter scallops and mussels in a saffron vanilla cream this is Michelin star quality. For mains I had the French trimmed lamb cutlets, This is a complete meal. very special, the lamb pink and melts in your mouth. Dessert the famous apple tart with vanilla ice cream. We also had 3 glasses of champagne and an amazing glass of red house wine. Total bill inc service £205 for my wife and I. Great value.
Lovely cosy French restaurant, delicious food and excellent service!! :)
L'Aventure offered a truly exceptional dining experience. The onion tart, with its perfect cooking and balanced goat cheese, was a unique and delightful starter. The main course, featuring the exceptional veal, was a feast for both the palate and the eyes with its remarkable presentation. What's worth noting is that L'Aventure follows a set menu format, allowing you to choose between various combinations. You can opt for a starter and a main course, or go for the full experience with a starter, main course, and a delectable dessert, like the phenomenal apple tart. While L'Aventure may be on the pricier side, the quality, presentation, and range of options in the set menu make it unquestionably worth the investment for a truly unforgettable culinary journey.
The food was absolutely incredible, I honestly can’t remember the last time I had a meal this good (if at all). The service was excellent too, friendly and warm, perfectly relaxed but attentive, felt really well looked after. This place is undeniably charming with wonderful atmosphere, an absolute gem of a restaurant in St John’s Wood. I think for the quality of the food the pricing is extremely reasonable, 2 courses £55, 3 courses £60 (drinks are also reasonable). I had onion and goat's cheese tart starter, rack of lamb main and apple tart with vanilla ice cream desert, all superb. Looking forward to my next visit.
